Jim,

Thank You for sharing all this informations which I intend to use for my Napoleonics too. The only alteration is the use of long Limberbases, long enough to place the guns and the Artillerymen on it.

Your use of the 12pdrs as 8pdrs has another aspect you may have overlooked:
As your frenchies are uniformed for the time until 1809 your guns are of the old Gribeauval system, therefore cumbersome and not the more modern, smaller System XI that was invented later.
So you have very realistic sized looking heavy 8pdrs. :!:

Thanks again.

Günter

Obviously I will break this down into the 1st and 2nd battalions but I just wanted to see how it would look at this scale. Now, if someone were to write some rules...

Gribeauval Heavy 8pdr Battery

There is a lot to finish on this one to make up the necessary support group such as more limbers and caissons. I hope to get these done before Borodino.

C'est la Batterie des Hommes sans Peur? Non! C'est la Batterie des Hommes sans Chance.

So far so good. I like my wee set of Sappeurs who, together with the battalion officers, are just raring to kick in some windows and generally redecorate someone's wee hooses like La Half Sainte or Les Quarter Bras.

NB: A big thank you to Clarence who showed me how to size the photographs so you don't need a 44" monitor to do them justice. That man has missed his vocation, he should have been a Graphic Artist.

My my... Jimbo HAS been busy! They'll all get an outing at Borodino AND if you bring those Sappers they may provide a bonus when you try and assault the Raevsky... if you get that close!!

Merde!

A wee command stand I've done for a friend in the States. It still has some work to be done on the base and some touching up on the flag. The finished article might get an outing at Borodino just to get it bloodied. I mean, I wouldn't want to send him virgin soldiers, would I?

And now for something completely different:

Image
Dual-Purpose Artillery Ammunition Markers

These have been tarted up as usual and show the versatility of the range of RtE markers available from this very site. They can be used as follows:

1. As ammunition markers to keep track of the amount of shots your battery has available at any point in the game.

2. The front one can be offered to the opposing commander if you feel he is being too cautious.

Barry,

Absolutely, as well as being very versatile the 33me Ligne are completely bisexual so can represent Saxons as long as you don't let them get too near the Austrian sheep. Günter has told me all about these Saxons.
