1814 Austrians

Post by toggy » Sun Jun 19, 2011 7:22 pm

Looking for any info regarding Austrians in France late 1813/14.

I've got an oob from Nafziger for the army advancing on Lyon 1814, but any additional material, especially about grenadier battalions would be most welcome.

Dave,

the oob is fine in that it gives the regiment & number of battalions, but I am a little unsure about whether the grenadiers were split into separate battalions or were with the parent regiment.

Also were the cavalry guns & battalion guns still being used or was it just a divisional battery along the lines of the French?

And just any general info regarding sources for Austrian involvement in this phase of the war, post Leipzig.

Bob, post Leipzig would be the 1814 campaign and the Andrew Uffendelli book on the campaign is a great resource. I have a number of uniform books on the Austrians which you can have a look at when you are up for the Whitburn game.
