I admit defeat- advice neededn

Post by Phil69 » Sat May 12, 2012 4:27 pm

Hi

Well I am a long in the tooth ww2 gamer in 20mm which will always be my main period but have had various secondary periods.

The secondary periods have been 15mm Nap, dabling in 28mm Wss, and Acw 28s but none of them have really grabbed me. I have been seduced for want of a better word by front ranks figures and the Nap 28mm photos on here and have ordered a few sample figs from front rank.

Will be looking to try different rules as use gdb for 15mm and looking to rte. How many figs to a fre bn cav regt and same for Brit and Prussians. With regard to Prussians who mixes well with front rank.

Cheers

Don't be stuck!

French units for R2E could be 24-36 (infantry) 12-24 cavalry. 3-4 guns per battery.

British: 20 - 50 (infantry) 10-30 cavalry. 2-3 guns

Prussians 24-40 infantry 10 - 25 cavalry 3-4 guns

Nothing is compatible with Front Rank really (in the same unit), they are very large and pretty much stand alone. In differetn units, no problem.

Thanks that lovely eye candy. Am I mad to want to change scale when I have 400 or so painted 15s? I know I am but just not inspired to paint 28s in any other period?

Any words of wisdom?

Cheers

Being 'mad/insane' is the reason we game! I'd say go for it.

never met a sane gamer, but I like to think we are all nice mad even me most of the time.

& what is wrong with having several versions of your favourite army in several scales & in my case based for different rules sets.
