Horse Artillery: speed of movement

Post by Belg » Wed Oct 30, 2013 2:23 pm

Hello,
someone would know by any chance if the speed of movement of the batteries of Horse Artillery was the same as that of the Cavalry Regiments? The batteries move only at the trot or even at gallop?
Coming to the practical:
I would make sense to give to the Unit of Horse Artillery the same movement value as those of Cavalry? Or should it be a bit 'slower?
In our Rules, for the Cavalry unit at the time of the War of the Spanish Succession, the value of movement, such as the Dragoons, is 37 cm, while the Cuirassiers have value of 30 cm. These values remain the same even for the Napoleonic period.
What could it be the value of Movement for the Horse Artillery?
Considering the weight of the gun, and the fact that horses are yoked, a reduction of 5 cm compared to the Dragons, it might be reasonable? That is 25 cm.
What do you think about this?
Many thanks.
Sergio

Sorry, the reduction of -5 cm would be applied to the Movement of the Cuirassiers (30 cm), not those of the Dragoons (37 cm.)
