re Williamite OOB for the Battle of Aughrim

Hi Barry

I'm building up a Williamite force using your OOB as a template

I have a few questions, inparticular about the dismounted dragoon brigade

Gard Dragonders (Guard)
Conyngham's Dragoons (Drilled)

They are:

How many stands in each unit (1,2 or 3)
Can they remount during the battle
If no, are there 5 or 6 figures per base

Where is the OOB you refer to?

Both the Dutch and the Irish regiments mentioned were quite large, the Dutch had 10 companies and the Inniskillings had 8 troops each of about 60 men plus officers. Don't know the strengths at Aughrim though.

initial action involved a detachment of 200 Inniskillings dismounted later supported by the Dutch and others.

I'm sure they remounted at some point during the action.

The Inniskillings lost 43 killed and 29 wounded in the action.

We took a few liberties on this flank by having the Gard Dragonders mounted and dismounted in some strength. It was more to do with availability of models than anything else. The units were a bit strong in both forms in the scenario but the overall numbers were about right and the feel was right.

Yes they could have remounted if they had wanted to but where there were, such an action would have gotten them shot to pieces even quicker.
