This is the first shot of the brigade on my wargame table and I've just bloody realised that Picardie's command stand is in the wrong place. I shall upload a better one when I get the chance. Next brigade up will be the Wild Geese. I will be buying the figures for these in February from a new source.
Regards,
Jim

Looking grand Jim!
A fine brigade which I am certain will do honour to the cause of Le Roi Soleil!

The next two regiments. I intend this to be a brigade of four battalions, two each of la Guarde Francaise and la Guarde Suisse. I liked the idea of having the first two battalions in a firing pose with every musket crammed into the line. The flags are from Maverick Models:

NB: The other source I was talking about is not quite ready yet so it looks as if the French Infantry are going to be Copplestone's and I will then hope that he is ready in time for the Allied infantry and the cavalry.

Ray,
Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, they are Copplestone. Despite giving Mark a couple of not-so-gentle reminders, there are no cavalry or artillery on the horizon which is a great pity.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if there are a couple of wargaming weekends organised to coincide with the release of BtLB II.
Regards,
Jim

Nice. So what was Copplestone's reaction to your gentle reminders? He's got them all done just ready to be cast, or "what Louis XIV?"

I suppose it would be the literary equivalent of a blank stare, although he did admit he was a bit tardy. I wouldn't expect them too soon. I have another six battalions of foot to do before I even think about the cavalry. Next up is Gordon O'Neill's battalion.

Nice work Jim
Yes there will be BLB weekenders.. just a matter of time. Dave Imrie and I have some reasonably big plans and if the R2E weekender goes well then we may set up a regular arrangement perhasp even as frequently as once every month or six weeks.....

I like the look of your copplestone french Mr Dodger, I've used a few to add variety to my front rank french. Mostly standard bearers and officers, theres a slight height difference but hey! The new front rank figures for the Grand Alliance might tie in nicely. Keep up the good work and lets see the Fighting Irish!
(The historical evidence that God comes from Lancashire is slim, however he's definitely not from Yorkshire)

Well, I'm not so far as to maybe make one or two of the weekends if this event becomes a regular feature of the calender- a little tricky at the mo', but certainly something really I'd love to experience a couple of times at least.
Darrell.

The first of the Wild Geese - Gordon O'Neill's Regiment.
As this belongs to my ancestors it should have special abilities besides being Veteran - Guard - Elite etc., such as:
When required to take a moral check a
D10 is thrown. On a result of
one they are classed as
sober and the morale test proceeds as normal. On any other result they counter charge.
