Very nice looking units Jim.
Colin Jack mentioned that it was a good little show but having been at a retirement party the night before I wasn't up to getting up very early to get to Dumfries plus I would have probably been over the limit. Perhaps next year if it is going to be on?

Cheers
Dave

Seems I moved back down to England prematurely! Looks like a fantastic game- so many beautifully painted units- if you have any more pics I'd love to see them.

Cheers,

Darrell.

Great figures, I especially like the 2ème Compagnie Mousquetaires de la Garde!

Absolutely lovely, Jim! Post more, if it's not too much trouble.

How did the lonely British grenadier wander into the top photo? I hope all those French are nice to him.

I hope you don't mind me asking a question but in the second picture down from the top, what cavalry unit is that in the blue uniform in the foreground? Plus, where did you get the 'flowers' that are on the bases?

If I had to guess it's de Villeroi 1676 - 1704, after that de Conti

gentlemen. thank you for the comments.Flick as far as I can remember you are quite correct. The little flowers and tufts come from Noch. I bought them from Antenociti's workshop in the UK. Very good service.
Silflor also make similar.
Btw the British grenadier was part of a unit withdrawing in good order!
I have a nice star fort which some of you may have seen.Made by my friends flatmate (a very nice lady who also makes dolls houses)
I'll try and get a couple of photos.
Cheers
Anyone notice our battalions only have 12 figures but we fight them as 18. :)

These are truly beautifully painted figures. I'm still not sure about that cav unit. I couldn't find any references to one that looked like that or had a flag similar to the one show on the Hall CD French Cav under Louis XIV?

I used Mouillards plates as my reference for taking a shot and what that horse unit would be. de Villeroi is the only unit shown with that color flag and blue coat and cuffs. The horse furniture isn't a match either but his plates are from Louis XV time and things change.

Either way they are beautiful figures all around. :)

Hi Jim,

Glad you worked out how to upload your photo's from photobucket onto here, they look excellent.
Front Rank figures I believe :D very nice paint job and base work.
Where did you get your flag's from for this period??? again very nice.
Jim, if you don't want your photo's to have that img in brackets on your post here's the way around it.
In your photobucket album when you want to add a photo to your message on here keep it open by clicking preview, then goto your photo on photobucket.Highlight the IMG code then right click it, then click copy, now go back to your message on here and right click again where you want your photo to be and this time click on paste. At first you'll only see the IMG code in your message, but don't panick as when you post it the photo will be on your message in all it's glory.

Nice 1 Jim

Best Wishes............Ray.
