Here's an interesting range for the other side of Europe.

Strangely I have just started reading "The Fire and the Sword" by Henryk Sienkiewicz. There seems to be some spiffing Polish films of these books I can't seem to get hold of...

I bought my DVD box set from Amazon. You can still get With Fire And Sword for £11 or so. The box set comes with Colonel Wolodyjowski and another couple of DVDs. well worth watching.
Another good movie is Sluga gosudarev, (The sovereigns servant)
also available on DVD.
I see some nice poles on ebay for sale as well..

Very interesting :o

On my search for GNW and found a very useful russian side:

„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.
