Claymore...

Delighted to meet the man himself and a couple of the other reprobates from the forum at Claymore today.

Always good to be able to put faces to names and noms de guerre at last.

Beautiful examples of Barry's figures on show and the 'Titchmarsh' effect is even more impressive in the flesh!

Full of inspiration, just need to practice the painting a bit more...

Jim

Jim,

very nice to meet you and put a face to the name.. and I am almost certain we met when we were 30 years less wise!

Turrabear... Daves Toy Box link on the boards here.. he took some really nice pix of our game and others.... as for Warfare stand.. there was no trade stand. DT was selling the minis but we had a little display at the end of our Borodino table with plenty of painted stuff. I think Russian James, Old Dorg, Dave O'Brien and others took pix... hopefully they can provide something.. I was a bit busy running around!

Senility has certainly set on this side...

Pics would have been even better, but had to shrink them from >5mb to <256kb to upload! :(

Glad you like them.

Jim,

Thank You for sharing this pictures 8)
You can change that by making an account on, i.e., Photobucket. Load up the photo's there and copy only their codes in here. It's quite easy and you dont have to shrink the pictures therefore.

Hope that helps,
Günter

I know what you mean El Cid, Barry's figures look a bit undernourished while Front Rank's appear to have caused the Irish famine!

I intend to use Barry's figures for rank and file, keeping some Front Rank as senior officers and characters who I think could afford a bit extra on the table...

Hi there, Glad to say I am back in the frame. It was good to catch up with you gents at Claymore and now that I have finally stopped dithering about Derby and plumped I am really looking forward to it.

I picked up a squadron of Barry's new cavalry and they are now assembled and waiting undercoat. I have been trying out several ranges to see which I like the best. I have dixons from when they first came out (can it really be 20+ years ago!) but I have recently painted units from front rank and warfare as well. There is quite a size difference. Warfare are quite thin but they fit in with Dixon nicely. Not sure about the cavalry yet as I cant tell until they are painted. I will do some photos in due course. Photobucket tip is a good one. I'll try that in time.
