Post by footslogger » Fri Aug 10, 2012 11:39 pm

Should the musicians' livery for French royal regiments (such as Royal Italien) be the royal livery?

Hi Footslogger, I believe the answer is yes. I'll check for the Royal Italian regiment later to make sure,
Best wishes,

The answer is a definite yes : all Royal regiments had their musicians in the King's livery, including Royal Italien from its creation in 1671. The list also included Royal (obviously), Royal des Vaisseaux, Royal Roussillon, Royal Marine, Royal Comtois and Royal Danois.
