Tks, but I was thinking about William's 'English' Lifeguards. Any thoughts?

There are some shots here of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Troops of Lifeguards.

The 4th Lifeguards are actually the the Dutch Gardes du Corps.

Happy New Year Paul!

I believe the English Lifeguards would have the traditional red jacket and blue facings.

Cheers

Are you talking about the English Lifeguards or the Dutch Lifeguards, fewer than 200 men, as opposed to the Gardes te Paard, which was a full regiment? The latter became for a while the Fourth Troop of Lifeguards, and wore red coats. The standard apparently was the same as as those of they GtP.

It was actually the Dutch Lifeguards (Garde du Corps) that was ranked as the 4th Troop of Life Guards, and not the Garde te Paard. This error is made in some books, and copied ad infinitum, unfortunately.
