Re: Source for WSS French Uniforms

Finally began to work on the WSS troops again after an extended break working on Colonial East Africa... Just finished a battalion of the Gardes Francaises - will do at least one more, but I am working on a French dragoon reg't - mounted and dismounted - first.

Question: Per BLB I am going to use 5 figures per base for dismounted - but should I do the bases as with my regular French infantry - 2 wide and 3 deep - or should I do 3 wide and two deep for a wider formation? Also, should I do 3 stands - thus 18 mounted figures - 3 game squadrons, but 6 actual squadrons - which seems really big - or do I just do 2 dismounted bases and 2 game squadrons? Barry - any recommendation?

Those Guard Francais are looking great !

To your question of dismounted dragoons, the rules only state that a mounted sqdn ( 2 stands) dismounts to a single infantry stand size. The rest is aesthetics.

Personally, I have 5 dismounted figures on a stand and then have a separate horse holder stand as a marker.

Got my website back and running - will have to edit image links on older posts - but will work on it. In the meantime here are the Beaufremont dragoons... mounted and dismounted...

Prince Henry, really sorry I missed your questions on this thread before. Looks like you have answered your own questions!

Lovely troops.

Base sizing in BLB is not important so whatever you did was going to be right!

Last base for Beaufremont - the horseholder, of course!
