Lord Herbert's Regiment of Foot

Post by arthur1905 » Thu Jan 21, 2016 10:13 pm

This is my latest regiment for Ireland, raised on the 16th March 1689 in my home town on Ludlow Shropshire, so was a must. the fact that it's a English regiment clothed in Blue and not the normal red was a additional bonus,
Figures are Front Rank with Clarence's flags.

Very nice

Yes that's a good bonus being blue I don't know why maybe the only colour available when raised in stores? Or maybe the King gave permission for Blue instead of red or maybe the colonel just liked blue? Or he did it even if the King doesn't allow it to be blue but he was being abit of a rebel :-)

Very Nice Arthur!

Be Blue - blau - means in Austria you are DRUNK! So maybe this unit was recruited from all the drunken guys in Town....

Cheers,

Thank you all for your nice comments,
Historically they fought at the Boyne and at Aughrim, however there they lost there Colonel and at least one of there colours.
I am hoping they do better for me
