During the 17th century when regiments formed line were did the Colonel position himself to command the regiment
Was he upfront in the thick of action?
Was he at the rear with the pike block?
Was he on the right or left of the line?
Also how many flags were carried in combat was it just colonel and let colonels or did they just use what ever was available at camp?
