Like Chad I'm painting up 10mm marlburians and looking for a good set of rules. Very keen to purchase your finished product, the photos so far look great. Could you send me a copy of the current version to get ideas on basing, army sizes etc?

Barry,

Could you possibly mail me a set of the ULB rules please.
I'm finally starting on my 25/28mm Williamites, an army I've wanted to do for years. Your site has provided me with the inspiration to put brush to metal.

Thanks,

Nigel

So, ULB5 should be available in 3 or 4 months (with a little luck). That's good news.

Jeff,

I know it has probably seemed like Billy Bunter's Postal Order(did you get Billy Bunter in Canada??? - the postal order was always coming but never arrived  ), but ULB is actually finished more or less. Problem in the short term was funding - I want to pay for it in one hit - no debt, so I was selling off some stuff to raise that capital. Second point was choosing a printer and getting the right quote. A bit chicken and egg. Clarence had originally formated for a US printer and now it looks we'll use a European printer. This means reformating pages etc. It is not a matter of IF but WHEN.

1. Rules DONE
2. Cash AVAILABLE
3. Printer - Quotes pending
4. Distribution: via this site (which is going to get a major makeover and a shop section) & selected trade outlets for conventions etc.

All in hand!

Now you've seen into the engine room 8)

Have you thought of taking paid-up advance orders? That would help the cash-flow and give a very good indication of interest.

I have Chad and I actully dismissed the idea for the following reasons:

1. Our hobby is a minefield of broken promises and there are many instances of people taking advance payments (genuine and bogus) and not delivering..
result: reputation in tatters and a couple of broken legs (I know of many cases).
This hobby is full of shysters and people with good ideas but no business nous whatsover. The end result is the same in both cases : frustrated, disappointed people who put up cash in good faith are sans product and want a resolution to their problem. I would too!

2.I don't need the cash from sales of the rules (when I get it I'll only reinvest it in the Napoleonic version which will follow 8) ) and I don't want the pressure of deadlines not set by me.

My hobby is just that - a pure escapist fun ride. I have an extremely demanding job which is full of pressure and the hobby just lets me blow that gently away!!! 8)
I thank you very much for trusting me enough to even suggest it and that trust is exactly why I politely decline.

We are far nearer the end of the production process than the beginning so there won't be too long to wait.

*grin*, I remember a certain hobby-related company advertising a product as "available in you local hobby store" seven and a half years before it was finally written.

I know that ULB isn't "available in my local hobby store", but I'm happy to know that it won't take until 2015 for it to get written.

Hi Barry

Please could you email me a pdf of the latest version of your ULB rules.

I'm new to the forum and to wargaming in general.

I have an interest in the period of history covering the Boyne and Marlburian wars.

I'm in the process of getting figures etc and can't wait to get started.

Thanks

Steve
