Dutch white?

Post by Gunfreak » Fri Aug 05, 2016 3:10 pm

I have Hall's big nice plates about dutch(but seem to be more NYW then WSS.
and the grey is very light.
I have half a unit of WSS figures, it will be relativly cheap to order enough to finish it. But I see alot of the WSS dutch painted up have a darker grey, while not dark grey it's definatly not off white/light grey.

Did the color change? is it like the French white/grey as in we don't really know?

I imagine it's like most of these kind of questions... The cloth varied, campaigning is hard on uniforms, we probably don't really know, etc.

I tend to avoid white unless I'm painting a parade unit so even my whites end up as greys and my greys are probably darker as well. I can't keep a white shirt clean during a normal day so I imagine it would be grey in short order if I wore it every day!
