Its an expanded version of the old book the illustrations are different rather than battle scenes it has 5 pages of uniforms and 3 pages of flags .i,m reading it just now and as far as i can make out the appendixs are the main difference compared to the old version of it.

John,

basically the whole book has been revised in the light of more modern research - if things were needed to be changed they were - to this was added a more indepth study of the changes in the Irish army under Tyrconnel and a full narrative was added to cover the siege of Limerick. A number of the original appendices were omitted and a dozen or so more added which include the only three accounts of the siege found to date (one French Jacobite, two English Williamite), the OOBs were fully revised and whilst the Jacobite OOB is by nature vague, referring only to known units, the Williamite one also refers to units which were stationed elsewhere. Maps have again been fully updated in the light of the above, the main thing coming form this is that Ginkel does not spread his artillery evenly, and that the Centre-Left formations have no artilelry suppport at all, whilst those guns on the flanks don't really come into action. Would hope that the answer to all of your questions is yes.

A pleasure. Just to whet your appetite there are a further nine Ireland related subjects in discussion with Helion. Naturally, these need to be agreed/commissioned and then researched/written, so we have a few years before they will possibly see the light of day.

Hope you enjoy reading it.

This is one of those "what-if" battles as the Jacobites felt they were winning until the Marquis de St.Ruth was decapitated by a cannon ball. Another problem was he didn't leave any infantry in the reserve so it fell to Galmoye's horse to cover the retreat.
