Not sure where, but I recall reading in a source/book that when the French forces deployed to Ireland there may have been a detachment of Garde Suisse.

Was there a Swiss Guard detachment?

Could they have been present at the Boyne or first siege of Limerick?

Cheers

Edward

I had an Osprey book on the Williamite campaign in Ireland which I have lost. I dont recall reading about the Gardes Suisses being present, though at least one Swiss regiment (not part of the Gardes Suisses) called the Famechon regiment was present during the campaign, I think including the Battle of the Boyne. It wore a red coat with blue cuffs.
