League Of Augsburg - Fighting Talk

Does anyone have a breakdown of the guns used on each side at Ramilllies? I'm not sure I've ever seen anything below the totals on each side although here and there I've seen tidbits about a certain number of guns there - for example, Hall says the Dutch had 20 24 lb siege guns there.

This source says:

Ramilles:
Marlborough: 120 guns (30 – 24pdr, 8 Howitzers, 10 – 9pdr and 72 – 3pdr Regimental Guns.

This website says that:

The whole of the French and Bavarian artillery, 70 guns and mortars, was captured

Also another website says that the Duke of Villeroi had "32 heavy guns" and 38 small 4-pound mortars.

Doesn't seem much when looking at it, I take it artillery was still not a big factor in a battle and was still down to vollies and cold steel?

The Osprey covering Ramillies estimates that the Franco-Spanish army deployed
70 guns. It provides the following estimate:

12 x 16-24 pdrs
20 x 6 - 12 pdrs
38 x 4 pdrs


Of these, 40-44 are assumed to be French.

I suppose that the critical aspect for wargaming this battle is that Marlborough's army
is estimated to have considerably outgunned his opponents (120 guns to 70) and that
the majority of Franco-Spanish guns were lighter.

@theRightfulKing - I'm a bit skeptical about that. Were the Brits using 9lbers then? I believe the Dutch used 6 and 12 lbers so this would make the medium guns all British provided, which gives me a skeptical.
