WW2 Mini Campaign.

Post by barr7430 » Fri Apr 08, 2005 6:14 pm

I am thinking about running a mini campaign through the site using some of the principles and mechanisms with which the Sands of Time OstFront Campaign was managed.

It would involve Subscribers commanding moderate size forces with set missions who may well end up playing against other players forces or umpire controlled forces. There would be no need for players to `buy' or paint anything as they could choose unit composition from a `pick list' on line. One picked, there commands would be accessible to view via photos. Battles would be fought by myself and the immediate group of gamers who are my buddies. Updates, action, pics, medals, massacres and other mayhem would be available to all visitors with Players forces and histories listed. I have a reasonable amount of experience at this but have never run a `virtual' web based campaign before and rather like the idea. As a taster I will begin posting some of the accrued data from the Sands of Time in the Warchest to give those interested a flavour of how much fun we had with this.

Any takers? :?: :?:

I'd be in! I'm just starting a WWII project and would love to get into a campaing - especially if it meant I didn't have to paint all of the models!

FIRST SALVOES

Post by barr7430 » Fri Apr 22, 2005 2:42 pm

Thought it would be a good 'entry' in to the campaign idea to finish off the Sands of Time before we start anything new, so if you guys are still up for it the following will happen over today and tomorrow:

1. Overview and General Info will appear in a new WARCHEST section SANDS OF TIME
2. Individual orbats of your forces will arrive by personal e mail.
3. Sensitive info and movement/status info will appear by personal e mail.

We have six players:

Soviet
Paul McLauchlin
Dave Imrie
Chris Steadman

German
Sgt Steiner
Ian Beal
Quindia

The action can start more or less when whenever you guys wish. Battles can be fought `virtually' and `actually' with all updates and bulletins posted through the campaign section of the site. Unit photos within a few days of set up.

Let me know if this is ok guys...also some time for some more last minute players...

Cheers

Hi Barry,

This arrangement is fine with me. Soviets were the first WWII figures I ever collected :D . All long since sold off though.

Hi Barry

This is fine with me - thanks for the time and effort youa re putting in. And thanks for the Soviets - 20mm WW2 Russians are still my biggest collection and I still seem to buy more than I build and paint.
