2015 Looking back 2016 Looking forward

Post by barr7430 » Thu Dec 24, 2015 9:31 am

This year has been very challenging. Personal tragedy's hit our little group very hard both in family and work contexts. I believe circumstances are known to a few people who follow Clarence and I on these boards and the blogs. At work two tragic deaths resulted in my having to take a far more operational role than normal and that combined with travel meant about 180 days away from home which of course impacted every Warfare/WordTwister project. Those who know us well will recognize that ambition and energy can only be suppressed for so long and that by nature, we are glass half full sort of chaps. We did what we could and, that was quite a lot. Bearing in mind the year opened with the sudden death of Stewart Griffin and all the complications that brought for the GNW releases, on balance 2015 has been very productive and has laid a foundation for much progress in 2016.

I will do a retrospective on 2015 on the blog and confine this post to 2016.
So, what is in store......

WARFARE MINIATURES

We will release in 2016...

Grand Alliance Mounted Dragoons and command (both hats and caps)
French Mounted Dragoons and command
Horse holder Dragoon sets for both armies
All of the above on new dragoon sized horses. The dollies are being cast now for sculpting during January and February.

New Grand Alliance and French infantry

New artillery crews, sappers, labourers and civilians

Sedgemoor/Recruit/Jacobite volunteer style infantry

GNW Russian infantry in marching and defending poses plus command
GNW Russian Grenadiers
GNW Russian mounted Dragoons and command
GNW Dragoons horse holders
GNW Russian Horse Grenadiers
GNW Swedish cavalry
GNW Swedish Grenadiers
GNW Swedish artillerymen
GNW Russian artillerymen
GNW personalities

ECW Cavalry

On the publishing front.....

I am working with a book designer whom I have worked with before. He is on board to energize and complete the most important publishing project we have undertaken so far. The work stalled in 2015 on our Ireland series for all of the personal reasons highlighted above and a need to complete some important models and landscapes for the project. The project is now running at 3 volumes.

That work is well underway again. This chap I am talking about has brought tremendous momentum to the project and we'll share some WiP shortly here and on the blog.

It is likely, all going well that other pipelined and written works including a new iteration of BLB , a brand new pike and shot rule set and possibly Four Empires will see the light of day.

On the show front I am committed to Prestonpans, Tactica (Hamburg), Historicon (with Clarence), Crisis (Antwerp). Other shows to follow including at least one Partizan.
Warfare will trade through Victrix at SALUTE.

In between all of that I am very much looking forward to gaming with Dave, Toggy and Gerry at some point as yet tbc.

As you say 2015 was in many ways a sad year but also in a different light a rather productive Year! So, Heads up and into the challenges 2016 has to offer :D

New Infantry for French and Grand Alliance, are they going to be next generation modelled figures or Addons for the existing range?

French Guard Firing and Loading?

Or French in tricornes? or French with shoulder ribbons for the slightly earlier look

Intrigued now hehehehe

Not sure about the infantry Lee. The cavalry are already sculpted and have been for a couple of years. It is just getting round to the process of production moulding with so many other things in the queue.
