Post by barr7430 » Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:48 pm

Gentlemen,

currently doing the last revisions on R2E for our big Ligny game but would ask you if you have any suggested rule amendments, questions etc now, to send them to me for consideration/inlcusion.
I will of course circulate the latest edition to you all before the event
cheers

1) Cossack lancers to kill on 2,3,4,5 or 6 in first round and get the opportunity to re-roll any ones

2) Russian Generals get the opportunity to be in two places at once

3) Opolechnie pikemen are classed as veteran elite

that should do for starters

and on the serious side

4) reloook at the unsupported rules espceially if we play with small brigades with only two or three battlions each.

Kevin and I have decided that by Ligny, ALL Prussian infantry is to be classed as Veteran/Veteran Elite as they had been in 'the field' since 1813. We decided that any Prussian Troops still alive after 2 years of 'whooping the French scum' would have all the attributes of this classification!!

Barry, you've already had my 'few ideas' for consideration.

Being totally neutral in this matter

I've never played the rules but to speed things up and to cut the dice rolling

All 12lb artillery automatically hit and units fired on take a morale test which they automatically fail on anything less than a 6

Apart from that I like sharnydubbs suggestions which all seem very fair to other nations

Colonel Schnapps???

Monsieur le General, I think you will find that the Schnapps under question has been doing some serious 'butt kissing' at GHQ and has managed to get himself promoted 8)
I saw him myself on the field at Forfar and I believe he was at least a General-Major or some such Prussian rank. Commanding a brigade I think
The 'Lurkers' were also in evidence, mincing around in yet another copse... I have been told that these Jaeger are in fact Meisters (JaegerMeisters  )... I did however hear the Russian commander call them JaegerMincers.

We'll see, they may even be on my side at Ligny if I draw the short straw and get aPrussian command

Tres Bien monsiuer, 8)
It dos'nt really matter how many "LURKERS" the good gentleman commands, or how much funny gold braid he has on his sleeves and shoulders, nothing shall avail him of the cut and thrust of "my Sabres"

Might also be making a "BIG" assumption here in that yours truly will end up on the French side with some cavalry to command  - or god forbid, on the Prussian side "under his command"

My dear "General",
It is true, one often receives a "bloody nose" whenever our swords cross, alas for the rest of your dear Prussian troops it is not half as bad as their ultimate demise. The rest of your "army" are not quite as "lurking" as your "Jaegers" and tend to fall where they stand.
Looking forward to seeing you all again on Saturday :D

PS - Congratulations on your "promotion" :D
