OK - We're fixed Weekend 23/24 November 2007

Post by barr7430 » Sat Nov 03, 2007 8:33 pm

Chaps EGM of the LoGW today in the smoke filled back rooms of TARGE

Attending: Colin, Dale, Andy N, Peter N, Peter Mc, Angus, Kev, Bob, Barry.

We agreed that a game will go ahead 23/24th (Adrian you and I need the wee B&B!)
We agreed that Ligny was too much of a logistical challenge for that weekend and have deferred it to the first free spot in 2008.
That spot waas originally a Cowboys n' Injuns shoot 'em up run by Cowpoke CJ but he has agreed to defer this to later in the year.
We agreed the the Peninsular game run by CJG would go ahead as scheduled in June 2008.
This means we have a decision to make in terms of Nov 2008. Simply put do we do the Samurai game or the Cowboys? We need to make a decision on that.

So, what of 23/24 Nov 2007:

Well agreed soultion is DISPOSBALE HEROES 28mm WW2. 2 seperate games over two days. Day 1 likely to be an infantry slog in Normandy, day 2 a tank extranvaganza in Poland 1944.

I need : a revised list of all 28mm WW2 pieces that you have pls gents asap.

We also need confirmation of who is attending asap pls AND

Does anyone have the complete date list for 2008 as previously agreed because the Airlie have lost it.

Cheers....

There is always a way!!

Game in November

Post by charge0.wanadoo.co.uk » Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:31 pm

Dear Barry, Thanks I picked up the info when I arrived at Targe at 1430hrs. I can make the Sunday only that weekend (I take it you mean 24/25 Nov?) and will turn up about 0930 for the day if thats OK.
I would welcome the dates for 2008 so I can get them in my diary but the most pressing one is the March game for Ligny - can anyone help please.
I have 14/15 June for the summer game - is that right?
Yours aye, Charles

Guys, the good news that my extra brownie points earned by taking my wife on the dancing weekend have allowed me to come up for the game. Unfortunately I don't have any 28mm WW2 figures but I could borrow Jack Glanvilles figures if we are short.

Horray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Great to hear you are joining us Dave

Kev, look on the birght side.. that was only 27p commission to mr 10% Smith 8)

So, we don't have the March date yet. The interesting thing is, if no one can remember it, how do we know we can all make it  :?:

I'll trawl through previous posts and see if it is noted anywhere. Otherwise, we should just agree a weekend and book it asap. Hope Dale has remembered how to turn on his computer

Gents.

Firstly, sorry for initially stating that i was OK for the following weekend for 'Ligny'. Technically, i am ok and will be in attendance for the WW2 weekend. I would like to also 'apologise and thank' you guys 'up there' for sorting out a replacement game at such short notice!
As most of you are aware i had arranged to have my car serviced whilst i was 'at the game'. My friendly car dealership, on the pretext of hoping to sell me a new car next year, agreed to lend me an 'estate demonstrator' as a courtesy car for 'the trip'. I was thus getting 'suitable transport' and my car serviced, for the cost of hiring a vehicle. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning when i phoned them to 'move the service', they said i could not have the said 'estate demonstrator' as it was earmarked with 'booked demonstations', mainly 'postponed' from the dates that i was initially to have it! They were not to keen to cancel these (understandably). So, the logistical problems that can change the course of a battle, certainly has effected this one!

Regards dates for next year, i have the same dates as Kevin, 14/15 June and 15/16 November. I have these 'in Dale's handwriting' and this suggests that these were 'The Airlie' dates. I believe a March date was not concrete and was maybe to be up in Stonehaven. The Ligny game is only suitable for Kirrie as its the same size as 'Waterloo'. If we are to do the Ligny game in March at Kirrie, then would one of the other dates have to move to Stonehaven? Food for thought.

Blucher

PS. Sorry, i've no WW2 'stuff'.

It's ALL coming back to me now 8)
You're right.. we therefore have to fix the March datae asap. Colin, could we do the Cowboy gsme at Stonehaven in November and bring Ligny forward to March in the Airlie.. means Dale will have to get round to the Airlie sharpish, clipboard in hand

ok,
we need to confirm numbers for this one guys.

We have some who can attend one day but not the other I think:

So far confirmed for

Day 1
Barry Hilton
Adrian Howe
Kevin Calder
Dale Smith
Colin Jack
Dave O' Brien
Peter Nicholson
Andrew Nicholson
Peter McCarroll
Bob Lauder

Not yet confirmed:

Paul McLauchlin
Steve Shaw
Mike Anderson

If those three gents are coming then we are full up. If not then we have three potential places

Day 2
Barry Hilton
Adrian Howe
Kevin Calder
Dale Smith
Colin Jack
Dave O' Brien
Peter Nicholson
Andrew Nicholson
Peter McCarroll
Bob Lauder
Charles Grant

Paul would get a first shout on this as he was booked for the Ligny game. Could possibly take one extra player this day.

Let me know asap chaps if you have not done so already :D
