GENTLEMEN -PLEASE READ : PREP FOR 23/24 Nov

Post by barr7430 » Sun Nov 18, 2007 11:23 am

Chaps,

Table 'shape and size' for next weekend will be exactly as it was for the previous WW2 weekender. We'll use two tables once again. The 'long thin one' will be for the infantry type game on Day 1. The terrain for this will be: CLOSED COUNTRY TYPE- NORMANDY HEDGEROWS & FARMLAND.
I have a rough map(detailed one is not necessary). This will have to contain 3 smallish villages, a couple of farms, roads, many hedges!, a small river somewhere.
For those bringing terrain pieces: Trees, Hedges, walls, Buildings, bridges and road pieces are of particular use. Much of the stuff we used on the last 28mm game is ideal.

DAY2: We're on the Silesian Plains so the terrain is much more open. We do have a pretty precise map for this. We need three Eastern European looking small villages and we need to build three largish bits of high ground. Stand alone hills and Bob's 'half hill tiles' will do the job.

Troops: Bring what you can. Orbats are being sorted out now.

Materials: If you have DISPOSABLE HEROES then great. If you don't, don't worry I'm trying to do some playsheets this week.

Bring a handful of D10s if you can

Look forward to seeing you all on Friday evening :D

Barry (& The Gents)

Looking forward to meeting up with all of you next weekend on our 'ad-hoc' game that has been organised by you all 'up there'. Special thanks should go to Barry who has had to pick up the brunt of the organising on this game.
On a 'non gaming' topic I would like to say how 'gutted' I was that 'you' didn't get a 'result' against the Italians in the 'Euros'. As I've just been offered a ticket for Wednesday night, I shall be at Wembley cheering on the only 'Home Nations' team that will be in Austria next summer!!

Gents,
Was down to see Martin Terroni today and he has gracioulsy contributed one or two little items that may be particular effect to the war on the "Eastern Front" Now don't take the "p***", this is not my forte, but it runs something like
1 x Sturmovik ground assault plane
2 x self propelled guns
5 x T34's, 86mm (I think)
1 x anti tank gun and crew
2 x mortar teams
2 x HMG teams
4 x LMG teams
84 infantry plus
3 x comand bases and
8 x casualty markers,
all done to Martin's usual exacting standards :)

My Tiles, plus Russian timbered buildings and church, and Western theatre buildings are available. Half tiles have since been augmented, and the inventory includes a few more specials and hills curtesy of TSS and Steve Rimmer.

As fir 3 Lions Blucher, don't celebrate till the final whistle, Engerland could still git beat    - then we could sit and watch the action "TOGETHER"

Looking forward to this, as much as a tonic if anything else, but also to the craik and seeing "you lot" once more :D

Barry, I have a collection of Russian Hovels buildings plus a great Snapdragon Russian farm , all in 28mm which I can bring if needed. I'll take along the various tanks and vehicles I have and send you a list soon.

Do I need to bring along any terrain tiles or has Bob got enough to cover Kirriemuir yet ?

Not quite enough yet Peter - but getting there. I have forwarded response to Barry's e-mail with highlighted comments via e-mail, but will still require 8 road tiles for the large table, and about 15 road/plain tiles for the small table.
