MISSING KIT AFTER OUR NOVEMBER GAME

Post by barr7430 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 12:28 am

Chaps,

As you know I borrowed a lot of kit from Big Gazza to run our little Normandy outing in November and unfortunately, much to my embarrassment I seem to have misplaced 3 of Gary's tanks   I cannot find them anywhere so can any of you chaps help me pls...

Did anyone find 2 x Corgi Churchills plus 1 x Corgi Cromwell lying around during the clearing up or have you found that your tanks have been breeding and now you have more than you had originally  !

Save my blushes pls boys :D

Hi Barry,
Sorry mate, can't help here, Martin got his contribution back intact, minus an aerial or two, other than that no other discrepencies to report.
I do hope this situation resolves.

On a seperate tack, I now have 30 Brit Infantry battalions, ranging from 24 to 48 man battalions for my Crimean Brits plus more Frogs and Turks, just to counter the odd 40 plus Ruskie infantry battalions.

Cavalry and artillery to excess, but god, it looks good !!!!!

Well, still got 350 Russian Infantry to paint, but they should be finished by this time next year bringing the Russians up to 40 x 24 man Russian battallons in 10 Regiments of 4 battalions.

I had hoped to have 12 Russian Regiments of 4 battalions each, but it is taking longer than I thought to paint up some of my remaining Brits. :?

The French are going to be AWOL in the main (600 pieces still to paint) If the funds are available, these may go to Fernando Enterprises. Other than that, the Turks have a nice sized contingent all painted up and chomping at the bit :D

Sorry Barry, no extra tanks here. Would have noticed as only had a shot of the Russkies and not the Brits.

Bob, I will be able to borrow my mates FPW French which will also do for the Crimea. I think he has about 120 figs + I have quite a few to paint up.

Cheers

I didn't bring that much stuff to the Disposable Heroes game but I've checked my bones and there are no suprlus Churchills or Chieftains lurking about.

If they don't turn up then we need to reimburse him for the loss.

My previous post should of course have said "boxes" and not bones !

My mind is not what it once was.

Good point Peter made. Gazza was good enough to lend them to us and although we are (usually) so carefull with clearing away etc, I agree with Peter. I for one are quite happy to 'chip in' for replacements.
Now that i'm all 'ebayed out' with armour and 'quite a player' with regards to 'auctions', i know how much these items can cost.

Without 'putting my foot in my mouth' could i suggest that if the last few 'Gentlemen' who haven't posted replies, haven't got them, we ask 'Gazza' to buy some replacements? There are quite a few Churchills around/ebay and once Gazza has 'replaced them' the GENTLEMEN at the last 'weekender' split the cost? Even if 'the bill' comes to £40 (ish) then its only a couple of pounds each. We could collect the money in at the Ligny weekend and Barry could take back. I think it would be a nice gesture.

Couldn't have put it better myself Adrian.
I am more than willing to contribute towards covering the loss.

Hold off on anything just now. I'll have another good look at the club and at home.

Thanks chaps. Much appreciated.
