Future LoGW games

Post by sharnydubs » Thu Jul 03, 2008 3:51 pm

Nov 08 COWBOYS N'STUFF Messrs Jack n O'Brien
Mar 09 WW2 Disposable Heroes Meself
Jun 09 Refight of MALPLAQUET 300th Anniversary: AK,CJ,DO'B, CSG,BH
Nov 09 Indian Mutiny PN

2010

Crimean
Isandlwhana

Barry posted these as the agreed future games for next year and beyond. They look to be great ideas and I am looking forward to each of them.

Having just seen the excellent recent Vietnam game on Angus's site with Dave and Colin's kit, can I make a request that we run a Disposable Heroes NAM game in 2010. Andrew T. and I both also have NAM stuff.

2010 would also be a good time to run another Napoleonic bash, especially given the investment by one and all in 28mm lead (and now plastic). I suggest something earlier - Austerlitz , Wagram, Jena or Eylau. Plenty of scope for the Prussians as well as the French and of course Russians and not forgetting the Austrians.

Peter, personally I'm always keen to have another Napoleonic battle especially as I no longer have a Naps army having sold my 15mm Prussians a few years ago. Unfortunately no one in the Edinburgh club apart from Angus seems to have an interest in Napoleonics, certainly not in 28mm. There are a few that do it in 1:300 scale which does nothing for me. I would have thought you might prefer to have a Penninsular game since you missed using your Spanish in the last game.

Cheers
Dave

Ooooh, ooooh, ooooh - 2010 would be the 200th anniversary of Bussaco... although a refight of Talavera would allow the Spanish to make an appearance, however brief it might be...

Oooh oooh Penisular - oooh oooh please... etc etc.

Talavera , Bussaco both great ideas although a pity the Russians weren't there. I can't bear to think of my great Russian force sitting idle for the next two years.

Indeed , although historically my Russkies often fought alongside your Prusskies against those dastardly Frogs.

However that said , let battle commence, may be next Sunday ?

Angus,

Packed up and ready to go.

"The Siege of Hapibutpur" - demo game unless anyone wants to play !
Looks like it will just be the Nicholson brothers plus possibly Andrew Thomson manning the table as Kevin is off to a wedding.
