LOGW SCHEDULE - NEWS FROM DALE SMITH - PLEASE READ

Post by barr7430 » Sun Sep 14, 2008 9:38 pm

14-9-08

Gentlemen,

After a regular meeting in the Airlie Hotel last Tuesday I confirmed with Lynn all arrangements for future bookings for the League of Gentlemen Wargamers. You will most probably have heard about the fire in the hotel since then. Part of the building was gutted. Fortunately no-one was injured.

Over the past few days I’ve been unable to get anyone at the hotel but spoke with Lynn this afternoon. To squash any rumours

a) The part of the hotel we use was not damaged and the dining room area had only smoke damage

b) Our bookings have all been confirmed as of today

c) The hotel will re-open as soon as possible (within the next few months)

d) Any tables which we normally borrow for TARGE are fine and the same arrangements as normal will apply.

Barry, would you put a notice to that effect on you site to allay any fears that the lads might have and to catch anyone I might miss with this mailing. Many thanks.

It was mentioned on the LoGW page that the Heugh Hotel might not be available later next year. Could any members present at TARGE meet for 5 minutes for a discussion?

Best wishes and good wargaming to you all

The Heugh sale may just be a rumour. Our November 2008 game is still a go-ahead. We can challenge Kevin then about next years bookings. No need to panic at this stage Captn Mannering !

I'm not sure which I found the most surprising.
The Heugh up for sale.
The Airlie on fire.
Dale sending an email.

Probably the later

Cheers

Thought it was about time I asked the 'usual question' of .............can anyone give the dates for March and June 2009?

The November game date (subject to the Heugh not being sold), Andy has already 'posted'.

Just want to get my diary sorted for next year.

Thanks.
