Must be last to confirm
But, yes, if a position is still open - I 'll be there, with tiles etc, terrain as required.
One better half noted works in progress at the Airlie on thurs 8th, so looks as if things are underway, lets hope when we wake up in the morning the Airlie is still a hotel, and not a new block of "Flats"

Barry,

Dale asked me to post this message regarding the troops he has available for the March game: -

"I have the following 28mm items to throw into the melting pot – not literally!

German

80 Assorted figures

25 Fallschirmjager

5 Pz. IV Tiger

4 Pz. V Panther

8 Panzer IV (5 more underway)

2 Brummbar

1 Flakpanzer Kugelblitz

1 251/1

3 Other halftracks

1 Flakvierling on a ½ track

1 Bergpanzer IV

2 Jagdpanzer 35(f)

Allies

36 Paras

9 Sherman

4 Churchills ( mix of desert and Russian Lend Lease)

3 Trucks

10 Halftracks

2 ½ Track AA

1 M10 Tank destroyer

I could manage a few more German items or some Allied transport. Let me know what is needed and I’ll give it a go."

Dear All,

don't be alarmed at my radio silence over the March Game.... Alles Klar!!! 8)

I have had so much on at work and also trying to get stuff fininshed for a project at SALUTE the weekend after Kirrie.

My plan for the game is already finished I just haven't managed to communicate it to you all yet.
I will let you know what you have to bring within the next week or so but the schedule will be:

Western Europe June-Sept 1944 for Day 1... open terrain... tanks and the usual stuff. We'll need 40 boards in a 4 x 10 format (20 foot by 8 foot format with outside cut ins).

German city for Day 2 - We will need the maximum number of appropriate urban buildings which will make the back drop for a house hopping mission.

To make things simple we will probably leave out the Soviets this time. I don't think any of you are collecting Russkies anyway.

It will be an Anglo Saxon versus the Teutons type weekend

Tiles

Post by thinredline » Sun Mar 01, 2009 5:53 pm

Gents,

Given the pressure of work, there is no need to respond immediately to the below, and given the logisitics (down the hill) I think base terrain, boards and tables will not present any problems whatever the requirement. 8)

Barry, Peter, I should almost manage the 40 plain tiles. I shall confirm.
Are cut outs 2x2, or 4x2, I assume 2 number cut outs on one edge, or do you want to be daring and have one on each long edge diametrically opposed  (Just for the board and support table layouts you understand). I'll run off table plans for these alternatives, and you can choose on the night if desired.

Hills and contours available by the bucket load.
Rivers I can supply within reason, but road tiles I would have to leave in Peter's domain. Alternative is using latex roads.

Dale and the KWC contingent are organised re transport and hall

Kind regards,
and best wishes
Bob :D

Barry , I didn't give you my Russian vehicles (you won't be surprised to know I have a few) but can do if you need them.

Is Friday night set up only or any plans for a game ?

I had a feeling Peter and I would be on opposing sides. Still, I'm sure we'll meet up in the game at some point.

Not long now!

I don't think I have had ago at being the Jerries before so this will eb an exciting change for me. And I will enjoy the challenge of sending a Tiger or Stug to pop Andy out of his hiding place at our next game.

Barry, I forgot to mention in my list that I also have 2 Hanomag's (Sd Kfz 251/1) one of which is an ambulance and another PzIV and an Opel Staff car as well as a GMC jerry can loaded truck for the Yanks.

I have one good modern building / large house which will do for WW2 in 28mm and fueld dump. I have a Russian farm house if that is any use and a regular / more ECW farm complex which may be of use.

Let me know
