That was another excellent weekend wargame fought in the Wild ,Wild West – Kiriemuir. Many thanks to Colin and Peter N for all of the work they put into a well organised and smooth running game.

The highlight for me was the payback on the Apachees for treachery even if it was expected. It was goodbye to the Apachee chief, shaman and braves who encroached upon my rear.

However the other treachery after a sworn and binding oath was a cutting blow. Now who was whispering in WBH’s ear........ You live and learn, except I think I died to learn.

I enjoyed every minute of it and I think we all did.

Roll on the next one.

Who eventually ended up the weekend winner? not that it matters when you're all having this much fun.

I hope Chief Running Scared didn't drink too much firewater and remembered to take the Russian reinforcements for Derby home with him?

Hidden amongst Bob's pictures is one of a shotgun template, hovering over a group of figures. The shotgun is being fired by James Jones one of the kid heroes of the Jessie Jones Gang, my posse for the day.

Underneath the template are five figures, two little injuns from Adrian's posse and three lawmen from Andy's. Cries of foul play were uttered on the day - "but you're allied with me" cries Andy - "you can't fire into a melee" cries Ade. Shame boys. Oh yes I can, I'm an outlaw and none of my guys are in the melee! I call it my revenge on the Priest move (for those of you who remember Andy's shameful attack on me a few years back).

Unfortunately my shotgun blast although hitting the mass target, failed to wound. But at least it sent Andy and Ade's boys hitting the dirt. They never fully recovered. It was the start of the downfall for Adrian who was heading for the hills a few turns later. And Andy - well his property empire found itself in new hands. Smug - who me , you betcha!

It was a great game and I think the first one I have won at our LOGW weekends. The rules do work well, they are fast and pretty clear cut even though our interpretation of a six inch move does vary and some peoples idea of line of sight doesn't seem to include trains, buildings or anything else that might be in the way.

Thanks Colin again. The Milky Bars are on me!

I just can not believe the amount of back stabbin, double dealing and sadistic 'unprovoked' attacks heaped upon me and my peaceful minding my own business as usual Apaches........frankly.....I'm quite shocked by some of you Gents and your duplicite natures......!!!!!!!!!

Anyway...apart from all that...what a bloody fantastic weekend organised by Peter and Colin and thanks to the rest of the LoGW for making it a very funny and enjoyable weekend - even though it will be very hard for me to trust any of you again on these types of games....!*!?*&!!!

Thanks Colin and Peter for organizing another very enjoyable weekends gaming. The individual games on Saturday were fast and furious and the massive town for Sundays game extremely impressive with some fantastic buildings.
Not sure about all the skullduggery and backstabbing in the Sunday game as I kept well away from all that and left it to others.
Congratulations Peter on being the overall winner I'm sure you believe you deserved it.
Looking forward to the next one already.

Bob sent me that photo Peter so I'll add it to all the others on my blog, makes it even more special now that I know what was going on.

OK guys! I've added two more folders of the weekend mayhem to my blog which also includes Peter Nicholson double crossing his brother, nothing unusual there then  Thanks Bob for all the great pics and it makes me feel even worse for missing the weekend but the 'Yellow Peril' are busy starching their weapons waiting for the next time the boys ride into town.

I've had loads of people emailing to ask which company produces the CanCan Dancers. I automatically assumed that they were Colin's but it doesn't look like his basing so does anyone else want to own up to them?
They would look good entertaining my Franco Prussian French as well as cowboys.

The Can Can dancers are mine. I just purchased and painted them for this game to add some more colour to the saloon. They are made by Knuckleduster who also make some other great bar room figures as well as three excellent hitching horses.

Just back to reality after a sunny break in the Lake District. Amazingly lucky with the weather.
Glad you all enjoyed the weekend and thanks to Bob for the pictures. I have a few of my own but not nearly as good - will post later.
Thanks for all your help Peter and for the use of all those lovely buildings.
Dale, many thanks for your hospitality and for all the local arrangements that make the weekend run so well.
