A BLB2 game with WARFARE MINIATURES figures. Something in Ireland!

Aughrim, but St Ruth doesn't get his head blown off and he routes the Anglo Dutch army and history is forever changed! :)

Just back to my hotel after CRISIS. A fantastically organized show by an extremely efficient and friendly club TSA. I was made to feel hugely welcome and the table was as busy as I can remember at a show for a long time.
I think I managed to convert a few 'WARHAMMER 40K' players to historicals and ran through some turns with those familiar with the wars of the Dutch. It was amazing how many Dutch gamers were amazed at the prominence of the Dutch in a period they new little about!
Of course the Belgians knew all about it

War in Ireland was a good choice.....

Nice to see so many forum members and names from over the years.. Alan, Bart, Burkhard, Patrick, Peter, William, Mats and loads more plus many knew gamers interested in the period.

Overall, a great experience.... 8)

Yes I did!

I also took some shots of another BLB game being run by Peter and friends which looked really nice.

sjefke123 is was great to run you and the guys through some moves today. I am sure you'll have fun forming your forces. There is just so much scope...

Grand Alliance (Dutch Coalition Army) can have

Dutch (of course!)
English
Scots
Protestant Irish

Swiss
Swedes
Danes
Brandeburgers
Austrian Allies
Bavarians(before 1698)
Hanoverians
Brunswickers
Luneburgers
Huguenot French

And several other nationalities

The French can have

French
Irish
Swiss
Germans (various)
Italians
Corsicans
Bavarians(after 1700)
Walloons

Uniform colours.. you name it

These Boards have huge amounts of really top quality data and links if you just look around for a while..

Ask us any questions and we'll be glad to help :D

Did they understand your Weggie accent or did they think it's just double Dutch?

It was nice to see your table as well as the one from Aldegarde. Strange to see BLB in 28mm, as I am so accustomed to play in 6mm with much bigger armies :D
I am still happy with the BLB1 version.

It was a great show and thanks to the organisers of TSoA. It was also nice to see a lot of people and put faces to the names.
As Barry said, LoA is a great period so we will expand our armies in this period as we think it has so much potential.

It was great to meet you Barry. Loved your game and figures. If you are ever in the neighbourhood of the clubhouse, let us know and we'll give you a tour of the Ekeren battlefield (or what's left of it)

BTW, Burkhard, the link you posted on your blog, Belgica is not the one we will be at, you should link the Waagnatie page as this might confuse some people. Too bad I missed you yesterday, as I had to pass on Dennis' best wishes.

See you all in 2012.
