Bubble gum cards of the 60s - Memory Lane - enjoy

Post by barr7430 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:31 pm

Prompted by some forum discussion, a lunch and game with DOB and a trawl on the net I have a visual feast for gamers and children of a certain age like me...

See how many you remembered... I really enjoyed this and sat glued to the screen for the entire slideshow:

Managed to get the whole set of civil war cards a few years ago and they take pride of place on the bookshelf. I remember a WW2 set from the same time but have never been able to track them down.

Dave, Only managed to get the cards. I don't suppose many of the notes have survived I know when I was spending my pocket money on them I didn't give the notes or the bubblegum I second thought, it was the cards I wanted.

I remember back when they were produced that some crooks were defrauding old post misstresses with the Confederate money so I think it was eventually taken out of circulation. Would love to have a set of everything to bring back memories. Perhaps you could bring your cards along to the next LOGW weekend or the Kirrie show for me to have a brouse?
Cheers

It was the confederate bank notes I remember best. I had a collection of them and tried cashing them in at the travel agent who I had heard delat in foreign currency!

Great to see those cards again. The bubble gum from memory was hard and pretty awful!
