Duchy of Warsaw figures - painting advice please

Post by valleyboy » Mon Nov 12, 2012 6:07 am

I have some new 28mm figures on the workbench - these are RTB's Duchy of Warsaw figures that were sculpted by Paul Hicks

They are really lovely to paint but I'm not at all certain that I've got the details correct so I've attached a few photos of 4 test figures that I've completed
I've been using this as a source : - http://empire.histofig.com/1810-1813-period.html

The precise uniform details seem open to interpretation, so I've hedged a bit

On reflection I probably should have painted the Grenadier with blue cuffs but I like my grenadiers to look like grenadiers so red it was
I'm also not certain about the back of the coat
can't see any turnbacks in the middle of the figure (ie above his butt) sculpted so its dark blue

Does anyone have any advice to offer please?

Nice work, ValleyBoy. Check out some of the details here, using the Google Translate Toolbar button (or similar) to change Polish/French to English:

Hope they help a bit.

Valleyboy, which regiment were you planning on painting? Also, which time period: pre or post 1809?

Otherwise, they do look good!
With Gen'l Custer Down in Mexico: Yes, one of the goals is to see how many times one can get him killed.

I think that this

would help you too.
„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.
