League of Gentlemen Wargamers future calendar

Post by barr7430 » Tue Jun 20, 2006 4:49 pm

Having had a very well organized chat during the weekend, the league has come up with its events programme for one year (and a bit) in advance. The games chosen are:

November 2006 : 28mm Napoleonics: Refight of Waterloo Peter/Dale/Barry organizing
March 2007 : East African 18th Century Pirate game
Peter/Andy organizing
June 2007: English Civil War mini campaign and climactic battle
organizers as yet undecided
November 2007: Japan The Age of Battles - 28mm Samurai
Dale/ Adrian organizing

Looking forward to painting and playing 8)

Dear All,

our calendar for 2007 has changed somewhat due to various circumstances and commitments amongst our gang. The dates remain the same:

17/19 March Heugh Hotel, Stonehaven -
East African Pirates game (1750's)
Organiser : Peter Nicholson UNCHANGED

June 2007 (date tbc by Dale Smith) Airlie Hotel, Kirriemuir:

Previously ECW (UNADOPTED)
Changed during weekend 17-19 Nov to Quatre Bras/Ligny double header.
NOW RECHANGED - tbc but neither of the above
Organiser : Barry Hilton

November 2007 (date tbc by Dale Smith), Airlie Hotel, Kirriemuir
Previously: Age of Battles Samurai game
Organisers : Adrian Howe & Dale Smith

NOW CHANGED TO

Ligny June 16th 1815
Organisers: Kevin Calder & Adrian Howe.

All that talk of Prussians and the big table for Waterloo has lead Kev & Ade to recognise that Ligny is actually as big a battle as Waterloo and needs a little more prepping!

I'll take up the slack on the June game.. more details about what that might be to follow soon....

Samurai- Age of Warfare

The rules for our 'Samurai' mega game are to be developed by ourselves, utilising a lot of 'mechanisms' of other sources and 'all blended together in true LoGW flavour'. They were going to be 'playable' by mid 2007.However, the game has been 'put back' to be our June 2008 game, so the rules have been 'frozen' at the moment. Details when they are 'thawed out' approx January/February 2008.

Have I missed something? When and why has this happened and has something else been arranged in its place? :? Has Von Blucher felt the need to visit a real Samurai castle to get the correct feel for the model? At least it gives me even longer to try and paint up some figures.

Hi Barry, loved the latest pic, like a painting just the sort of evidence we need for Uxbridge to explain how his dragoons could counter charge with the squares in front of him  The poor man was probably traumatised with the loss of so many of his senior commanders that he didn't realise what he was doing

I think the 'missing dates' for LoGW are 15/16/17 June (Kirrie) and 16/17/18 November (Kirrie), but i'm not sure! I have them written down in my 'important dates for 2007 so......and i'm sure i got those dates from Dale!?
