Beautiful unit Peter!

Even if not quite in the correct yellow as you stated yourself and not in Parade Dress Uniform they do look splendid :D

Cheers,
Günter

P.S.: My own 5 Battalions will be ready until the end of March 2013 and finish my 2nd Division of Infantry

Thank you Günter.

There is very little that is similar in the ways we have gone about our Saxon armies. Speed of unit production is only one aspect of that difference! :)

All the best to both of our Saxon armies ... and to any others out there.

I don't suppose you will be too happy with my next main unit to work on - a Prussian Landwehr battalion!!

Well the Landwehr battalion will be modelled in a stressed condition and will have plenty of casualties in it. :D

Pjotr Ivanovich :D ,

I dont think you will be tempted to built Regimental Artillery, will you?
1813 won't be any around anyway...

Why do I tell you that? Only because of a suggestion.
Dont place Artillery men with a rammer on the base with the gun.
There was no rammer in use with the 'Geschwindstueck'

Cheers,
Günter

Günter - I am proud to announce that I have absolutely no plans to build any regimental artillery for 1813. All that luxury disappeared in 1812 as far as I'm aware. :D

So what did they do if they didn't have a rammer?

Peter,
Here is the answer:

http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/images/7/7 ... 3%BCck.jpg

They 'dropped' the charge and the Iron Ball into the barrel by pure gravity.

That is the meaning behind the word 'Geschwindstueck' - no need for setting the charge and ramming the ball in.

Best Wishes,
Günter

As the learned Günter has alluded to - one side or the other. Not that that makes them any different to the Bavarians and other Germans.

But locally they will spill most of their blood for that weee Corsican as that's what the local balance of forces dictates!

And thanks for your kind words on the battalion.

You know the difference between the Vallejo Golden Yellow and the Deep Yellow?

The Yellow tone of the 'von Rechten' and the 'Prinz Maximillian' - Regiment was a light yellow according to my knowledge.

As I missed my time table by a few months  I put in here for Peter a picture of my own approach to the "Von Rechten" Regiment and their Yellow Comrades. They are no match to the highquality painting style of von Peter himself :D

Very impressive Günter. You're going to have a quite an army by the time you finish the complete Saxon field army.

Sadly the 1813 Saxon Army does not allow the full complement of yellow faced Saxons. Brutally it only allows for two single battalion regiments and half a grenadier battalion of the yellow faced line troops ... but at least they're all in the 24th (Saxon) Division which I hope to complete some time this century.
