WW1 Ottoman Turks

Apologies, couldn't figure out where to put this so dumped it here. Two which finished off one side of a Mesopotamian project (1/72 plastics):

Getting around to starting the ANZAC opposition, be ages as usual.

Those are very nice units. WW1 is a very neglected period and the fighting in Mesopotamia even more so and the Balkans are never seen.
Cheers

WWI is an interesting period, transitional like 1660-1720 & given its the 100th anniversary is this year going to be rather well supported.

Can one have too many projects on at once, I have to ask myself, and the answer is no. Its just that I need to acquire a private income to finance them as this working nonsense dont half get in the way.

Must admit I thought long and hard before taking the plunge into WW1 as trench warfare didn't appeal. It's only when you look at all the other theatres that the conflict's scope becomes apparent, it's a pity there isn't much choice in figures for most of them.

Ah, another of my 'almost finished projects'. Still I've only about 20 Germans to finish off for my 1914 Eastern Front project. I ran out of steam after so many Russians and then a mass of field grey

The fighting change so much from 1914 to 1918 that it is almost unrecognisable as being the same war. Likewise, the trench systems also changed and developed from their initial building in late '14 into the redoubt systems of '18. If anyone wants a real modelling challenge, try modelling the Italian and Austrian defences in the mountains around the Capporetto front.

Yup, pricey too. New on Amazon at £38, used at £20+P&P. Too rich for my blood. Besides, as is usual with me once the armies are organized and the figures assembled interest in the history of the actual campaign disappears as the next project takes my fancy. That's why most if not all of my research is on the 'net for free.

Cheapskate, yes, devout :D (old guy).
