Huguenots in Ireland 1690

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Very, very nice Colin. As Andy says, look forward to them being on the wrong end of the artillery!!!

Only one question.......where's the replacement officer????? 8) 8)

Cheers

You may call it sarcasm........I, on the other hand, prefer to refer to it as a humorous observation!!! :-)

Dear Colin,

the Garcons will have a busy weekend! No doubt under your leadership they will scale new heights in the 'officer genocide steeplechase'!

Bon chance!

Perhaps some sort of sweepstake is in order?

Colin

Nice job...but have you thought about doing your officers in red coats?

Surely this would mask all of the blood and not upset their troops so much...just an idea....

See you Friday

Colin,

Great work.

I am doing Huguenots but in 10mm and was wondering where you got your uniform guide and flags from....liking the flags very much.

Hi Bunny,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Information on uniforms for the Huguenot is sketchy to say the least. The consensus is on a light grey but I couldn't find any information on cuffs etc. so I've pretty much made it up.

The flags are all from the shop on this site. I do know that they are available in several sizes but whether they would get down to the 10mm I'm not sure.

There's a bit more on my thought processes (or lack of them) over on the League of Augsburg blog site http://leagueofaugsburg.blogspot.co.uk/ look for Hugging the Huguenots.

Hope it helps,
Colin

Some much needed artillery support for the Huguenots. This is of course not a Huguenot unit but you never know where a Williamite officer and crew may have come from!

Hello Colin,

A nice "Daddy" you have built here!

Payment is all that counts! Who want's to know their religion if they fight well  !

Small advice my Friend: Try to give the gun a larger base next time because those instruments the gunners use tend to bend under the touchy fingers when you put the gun into position.
Talking out of experience

Cheers,
Günter

That is lovely work Colin. Is the Huguenot contingent now complete? Infantry, Horse, gun and many generals? Give yourself a pat on the back for project delivery!

Sorry to report there's been a bit of scope creep and I have another gun to do. And there's always room for another general or six.

Also I've got this thing called Donnybrook (heard of it? :D ) so I'll need forces for that... thinking Huguenots but with Three Musketeer/Flashing Blade/Monty Python inspired special rules... watch this space!
