Thank You
Ray,
Yes, the 1815 / 2015 Celebrations are in Wargames Terms without Saxony but it might be of interest that there were Saxons stationed in Liege, Belgium and therefore not all too far away from the area of the 100days campaign.
It was also there that the three Saxon Grenadier Battalions, including the Leib-Grenadiers mutinied against an order of Blücher to split them to be incorporated in newly formed units of the new Prussian Province of Saxony.
Two times the order were given by Blücher to shoot those "Saxon Dogs". Two times the order was refused by von Bostell, Commander of the Prussian II. Corps and by von Zieten, Commander of the I Prussian Corps.
The Order Blüchers was to "disarm, dissolving the Battalion and
BURN their Colours". As the burning of their colours would have been a too harsh treatment for "Allies" MjrGen von Bostell refused to do so. Von Bostell was therefore replaced by von Pirch I.
The Grenadiers insisted to be FIRST released from their Oath to their King BEFORE swearing an new Oath to another king.
7 of the Ringleaders were shot without trial.
Cheers,
Günter
