Swedish documentary on Lutzen - Fantastic!

Post by barr7430 » Wed May 25, 2016 5:01 pm

Big thank you to Ray Boyles for pointing me in the direction of this super Swedish documentary about Lutzen.

Very balanced, non jingoistic (in fact very much the opposite). The Swedes doing history as only the Swedes can... painting their greatest military champion as a cynical, hypocritical opportunist in it for the money and the glory and exploiting the gullibility of the uneducated masses.

Also recasting Lutzen not as a Swedish victory but as a bloody draw.... 30 minutes very well invested.. I thoroughly recommend it

Have to agree, good documentary. I knew a lot of the Swedish army were recruited from mainland Europe, but 90%!!!! Even the Blue and Yellow Regts!
The chilling part was the amount of head shots.
(The historical evidence that God comes from Lancashire is slim, however he's definitely not from Yorkshire)
