The 1st Westfalen Landwehr formed part of the 1st Infantry Brigade of von Ziethens 1st Army Corps. They were a three battalion regiment and saw very heavy action at Ligny where they suffered badly. This regiment did not make it onto the battlefield of Waterloo in time but its sister regiments the 12th and 24th Regiments did. This unit of 32 models would represent the battalion somewhere around full strength at Ligny. The models are Foundry painted by BH and in the collection of Adrian Howe. The flag is hand painted on cotton.
