The reasons for exploring this option are not that it is a big money spinner it is more about easing player's into larger games quickly by taking away the pain of painting lots of units particularly if they don;t have time or don;t feel happy with their own painting.
The sums are not complicated and as can be seen the economics are quite attractive:
£27.00 for battalion pack. 25 models painted(going market rate is often £5+) say £125.00, figures cleaned, painted, based. Flag sheet - £6. Time to completion if doing on your own - variable from 1 week to 1 year! Chances of getting on the table - unknown!
When put in these terms the case for those with the 'spend' and inclined is pretty strong.
That's the main driver - consolidate the range in the market, offer options to gamers.
