Hmm, would have guessed Glasgow. I will have to check... seems there are no direct flights from Düsseldorf (I live in the far west of Germany) right now. Anyway... this means it is not off the table, which is good. Maybe I can talk the missus intocombining it with a hiking trip the Scotland next yea...

October is resally bad for me, but I am contemplating if I could make one next year. Would anyone of the regular attendents pass by Glasgow Airport?

Just trying to figure out if this is a realistic idea coming in from Germany.

Cheers,

So if I get you both right, my main mistake was that I worked with 1:30 size as opposed to 1:20 size (not sure how that logged itself in my brain, but I guess I might even stick with it). And the reason why there was no constant factor in the deviation was that it gets rounded per squadron. Did I ge...

Waterloo Weekender 1 / Cuirassier numbers

Hi there, finally found the time to read through the notes from the 1st Waterloo Weekender yesterday and something did strike me. The 12th Cuirassiers are on my better halfs painting table right now (which is why I knew by hard) and we went with 9 minis. This is because Adkin gives their strength at...

But alas... I guess I was hoping for something too easy!

Victrix Brit Foot Arti... good for Horse Artillery?

I got me two boxes of these in the mail last weekend and was wondering... how close were the uniforms of the FA and HA? from a prilimiary look at the books I have, it seems the only difference is the headgear. Am I right or wrong. In the former case, I am wondering, if it mightbe worth asking Victri...

I recently read a book by Digby Smith and he stated that they were dressed in Dark Blue Greatcoats which led to some Allied units confusing them for Imp. Guard. And that they were actually used completely like infantry.

Bought mine about 2 1/2 month ago (and spend the the last month looking for them to comment here). Mine are a tiny bit smaller then their plastic counterparts (heads), but I think that this is not noticable IRL. Not sure if these are remodeled or it is just a question of perception though! Cheers, B...

OK book was in the mail today. But to be honest... it is a small marvell it arrived at all since the envelope was completely ripped open on three side. Unfortunately it got a heavy used looked (earmarks, rounded corners, slightly bend and -). I guess airmail comes without insurance? At least I got i...

THX for the info guys! Was planing to put my command on a normal base and do the skirmishers split up over two half size bases (Meaning they can form a line when deployed as skimishers and can be put behind one another for a normal base size when not). So that will work out fine as well! THX, Burkhard

Trapezoid and hex bases

Hi everyone, recently I have seen trapezoid and hex bases on some shots of units for R2E. Trapezoid bases for the command stands, hex for skirmishers. Now I am new to Napoleonics and I am in the process of painting and basing my first few units right now. So far I have been working with the pre-view...
