Haven't played Donnybrook in years but pulled it out and ran through a very simple small scenario. You can find the report here: http://platoonforward.blogspot.com/2021/09/donnybrook-forward-style-tinytown-ma.html Skip the first 2 paragraphs to miss my drivel. the battle starts 3rd paragraph. Have completed a rough draft of my campaign rules for use with Donnybrook. It is very solitaire friendly. Did my first playtest here and did advance the system to 1778. It will work earlier though as you focus on the characters not the technology. http://platoonforward.blogspot.com

What I don't know about would be their opponents. What type of force could the customs official have at...
While I know little about black powder I actually know a fair amount about WW II infantry tactics. I would be happy to work on a supplement with you. Even vehicle rules.
Have started working on Donnybrook for WW II. Playtested my second game. Background for the game derived from my campaign rules Platoon Forward.

Wow that is some bad luck! I have had some misfires and I think it does add "color" that will be missing from later years. My question is how unreliable were the muskets? Could you really lose 3-4 men in one go? ( It does make for some great gaming stories!) Not being an expert by any means t...
Played a scenario loosely based on Mr O Brien's. First time muskets were not overpowering. Unfortunately this put Lt Prescot in a pickle.
