By the way you are lining up a variety of differing factions, this would'nt be an adverserial type of game, with backstabbbing, treachery and pure bloody murder, would it? Thinredline It all sounds jolly good fun to me and I look forward to hanging you all from the gallows after giving you all a fa...

It makes it worth while when you get all the feedback about how much everyone enjoyed the weekend and the spirit it was played in.

Peter, I would prefer to use my Marlburian infantry as a town garrison. That could be a British, French or Spanish town whichever you want me to be.

You guys should try and get to the battlefield sometime it's well worth it, especially with all the new signage that has been erected. Colin Jack and myself were there just a couple of weeks ago and I'm already thinking about getting my Scots out. I've even got a lovely JamesIV figure made for me by...

Hi Barry, thanks for putting the pics up of all the great games at Partizan. You were correct in the photo caption it was Freikorps against Poles. Here's the text from our handout. "SOUTH EAST SCOTLAND WARGAMES CLUB Presents Upper Silesia, 2nd May 1921 ~ Poles vs Freikorps After the end of the Great...

If I remember correctly there were also the allied landings at Vigo 1702 to attempt the capture of Cadiz. There was a mixed Anglo/Dutch force which had to initially fight it's way ashore.

Colin also has one of the Village Green (now Stronghold) ships. You can see it in the big E pic of our Bastille game, it's on the left of the pic disembarking troops.

Hi Barry, I was wondering why you converted the graphics to PDF's instead of just posting the Tiff files? they look as if they have lost a bit of clarity in the conversion.

[quote="18th Century Guy"]I've got a copy of 1870, They Died for Glory, Victorian Rules, and Les Gen Brave. I'm just looking for a good simple set and/or the best. I like 25mm but I'm leaning towards 10mm for this period. None of the above listed rules look like that handle 25mm/28mm very well. How ...

Re: TYW flags

Does anybody have any suggestions on sources for flags in the 30 Years War? I have details of Swedish, Saxon & Imperialist flags & banners, but I would like a few more options, especially for the German states on both sides. Have you had a look at the Warflag site? it has flags for Danish, Spanish,...

I have never heard of any town troops wearing liveries, or even nobles retainers either. I would stick to very plain colours such as greys, browns and blues or undyed cloth colours. That's what I painted my Scots army in and it looks very good. Edinburgh appears to have supplied some flags to some o...

Weapons and tactica are completely different for the FPW, the Crimean war was basically a later Napoleonic war where rifles just started to make an entrance into warfare. The big leap forward in the Crimea was the use of telegraphs, photography and iron clad ships not the warfare. There are lots of ...
