The war came to involve the major powers of Europe, with Sweden, France, Spain and Austria all waging campaigns primarily on German soil. Known in part for the atrocities committed by mercenary soldiers,

the war ended with a series of treaties that made up the Peace of Westphalia. The fallout reshaped the religious and political map of central Europe, setting the stage for the old centralized Roman Catholic empire to give way to a community of sovereign states.

I like the consistently good painting style of the troops and the varnishing makes them look excellent. Surely they cannot all be the work of one person?
I note that the horses appear to be the oil wash on/off method. Which varnish do you guys use? it even looks tough.

We did use Humbrol matt tin 49, and we thought that was the best till a few of us got a bad tin or two, it ruin so many miniatures, now we use AV matt medium, two coats very quick to dry and it seems ok so far.
