Hi,

In the middle of moving house but I've just got time to post up a few pics of the WIP's of Harold's Command Base that will stand behind the battle line and the mini's for Harold's Command Base that will take it's place in the battle line for the Hastings Demo that I'm working on for Salute next year.

A lot to do as of yet, but I'm "on it" as they say.

More pics and info can be seen on my Just Add Water Blog here:

http://justaddwater-bedford.blogspot.co ... -2016.html

There will be regular updates as I go along with the project.

Thanks,
Darrell.

Thanks David... lot's more to come. I'm just waiting for some LBM transfers for the banners before taking the pics of the finished base. Currently working on more Huscarls.

Darrell.

You missed another early medieval game at Hugh's on Wed.
set in Ireland 1170 had Anglo/Welsh Normans against the poor peace loving Irish and hordes of Vikings doing what Vikings do.
My wife 'borrowed' my iPad so no picks from me but Bart and Tim will have reports on their blogs.
Cheers
Dave

I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Are you guys (SESWC or LOA) at Partizan in September?

Darrell.

I can't make it due to two family events on the same weekend.
You would think they would have the decency to check for Wargames shows before arranging a wedding. Colin can't make it as he'll be walking in France. I'm not sure what Barry, Bob and Gerry's plans are.
Cheers
Dave

Well, have a great time (all of you) and all the best for the wedding (is it your daughter?). :)

Fortunately not! It's one of my nieces.
I'm still paying my eldest daughters wedding last year and now saving up for my Grandson who is due to arrive in October.
Cheers

Glad you like it Darrell, the guys certainly found the surprise bogs interesting plus the beach disappearing as the tide came in started to give them something to think about. Rather than just give the Irish more troops because they were much weaker than the other forces I came up with the idea of allowing them to place bogs to their advantage.
Cheers

Yeah, I bet that was a nice surprise for the Norman players who were thinking, "Man we're really lucky to have got the Normans, could have ended up with those useless Dark Age Irish!!"

These pics are just a quick record of what I've been up to of late.

There's are a couple of bases of Ceorls and a 'Sneak Peek' of the Harold Godwinson Battle Line Base.

I've got to add sand and indeed filler to most the bases; I'm waiting until I've found my nice mix of various grades of sand which is in my new garage (somewhere!?) and the banner on the Godwinson stand need tidying up and the edges need painting. There's also the draco standard to add as I'm waiting on that arriving in the mail.
