Gentleman,

Just a quick note to say thank you to Barry and Dave for a memorable weekend.

I must also thank the team members on both sides for making it a great experience through their humour, gentlemanly conduct and bonhomie. I will have much more to say later but, for now, I am just savouring the experience.

A brilliant weekend and great value, the overall cost being more than covered by seeing the look on Toggy's face as three of his battalions were ridden down in an instant!

Regards,

Jim

I am already looking for dates for the next one in the Autumn. Likely to be October I think.
There may also be some 'one day' events coming up too! 8)

More pictures of the weekender tonight on the site.

Hi folks,

What a brilliant weekend! Many thanks to Barry and to Dave O'Brien for all their hard work. The whole set up was nothing short of superb and the umpiring resolved quickly and fairly every time. (I'm still claiming a moral victory because the Gordon's routed those Cuirassiers! )

Thanks also to our fine generals Peter and Ray (with a mention in dispatches for Von Calum our Prussian ally). Oh, and boo hiss to those evil Frenchies, Bob, Chris and Jim. :P

I worked out that my command suffered just under 17% casualties from my original strength or 25% of the troops engaged. Yes I'm that sad.

Only low point of the weekend was missing the chance to photograph the Seven Years War game that the SESWC had on. Maybe next time.

I hope to see you all again very soon gentlemen.

I'm pleased that the weekend went as well as it did and I'm looking forward to doing the next one. Apart from the game itself it's you guys that made the weekend with your friendly attitude to gaming and how well eveyone got on with each other in the social get togethers. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Barry's pics when he gets around to posting them but we are both feeling tired at the moment so don't want to rush him.

Cheers
Dave

Hi guys,
just to reiterate what's already been said,a truly fantastic weekend. Many thanks to both Barry & Dave for running a quite remarkable battle,I don't think there was a single form of combat, shooting or manouevre that we hadn't covered by the end of the game.
As a 1st time player I was very impressed with both historical accuracy & speed of play,we got through 12 moves on day 1,even though all the players were relatively new to the rules, and not forgetting there were around 3000 figures on the table.

A superb weekend at a great venue, the 2 12'x6' tables were dwarfed by the room, could have got 4 more in (more terrain please Barry!).

And finally many thanks to the rest of the guys for a truly memerable couple of days, already looking forward to the next 1, and the 1 after that.
Now off to look at some photos of it all.

Valleyboy,

we took the friggin' camera!!

Have put up the first 9 shots from about 90! more to come. I have also tried, where applicable to referecne into the relevant section/mechanism of the rules which may be visible in the shot.. The plan is to produce a downloadable PDF... story of the weekender with

Battle report
Pics
Rules explanations
Orbat
Map.

Should be ready in a week or so and then stuck into the WARCHEST. We'll see if it tallys with the completely Anglo centric battlereport Ray 'Vandeleur' King is writing !!
