New GNW Russians

Post by lee sherman » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:35 pm

The Russian troops would they be suitable for any nations in the 1700s or are they quite specific uniforms?... I'm not well up on Russian uniforms I know frenchies usually have a lot more buttons on the cuffs and breast than other nations so probably not suitable for those

Lee,

it depends on how high your level of OCD is. The Russians would do fine for many nations and would serve fine as French. Of course every little nuance of every uniform can only be achieved by manufacturing every figures as a separate sculpt but no manufacturer is going to do that as it amounts to commercial suicide.

They would do fine as French. 15 years ago we were all using generic figures from Wargames Foundry or Dixons and no body batted an eyelid because everyone was doing it and that was all that was available. The same people may now be critical if your Danes don't have double buttoned coats or Swiss don't have crenelated trouser hems but really....
