LoA is delighted to announce we have found a fully residential venue in central Derby to run events like those currently running in Lundin Links, Scotland. More details shortly plus dates for two events in 2012. One in March the other in October. The first event is going to be an 1813 Napoleonic extravaganza. The second with be something spicy from the 1690s. More details soon...

That location sounds much more feasible, and 1813 always appeals--great news!

Yes Ray, the plan is harmonius coexistence between the Scottish and English events. It is clear there is a demand for events in both locations. The Scottish events as you know are now well established with a core of repeat visitors who have themselves become somewhat of a little friendly gaming band..
Hopefully Derby will work equally well and the idea is not to stick to a single period but to continue to rotate through various interesting wargaming highways!

Defiantly interested even if I haven't played a Napoleonic game since my teens I will just have to start saving up.

Dear Adrian and Barry,
are there any news? Has the minimum number of attendee's been reached?
I know I'm a pain in the butt but you know also my reasons to ask
So please cheer me up
I have to save at least € 500 for that occasion, that includes Flight and Hotel. Each week we get closer to the date raises the flight cost's by 3-5%

Hi Gunter,
sorry for the late reply. I am actually meeting up with Adrian this weekend for the LoGW VIETNAM GAME. I think his bookings are going up for March but can confirm by the end of the weekend. We'll keep you fully updated but Adrian is the organizational leader on this one.
Kind regards
Barry

We are really starting to get organized on this event now and want to make it as successful as the weekenders we've been running in Scotland.
To offer a flavour of the quality of the table here are some fantastic views of Adrian's stunning work:

The 1813 table will be of this calibre and the troops are from a combination of my own, Ade's and Bob's collections.
We have several confirmed bookings already so if you are interested in getting onboard and experience R2E on some of the best terrain on the circuit, get it touch..
More info soon

Things hotting up a bit on this potentially excellent event now. We hve critical mass in terms of players, Ade is busy building the terrain. Some of us are painting new stuff for the event.
I now have confirmation that Wargames Illustrated will be there probably Friday/Saturday to do photos for inclusion in the mag and I am hopeful that we might also have some other hobby 'names' attending either as players or guests.
There may even be an opportunity to pick up some product from a coupld of manufacturers if things pan out the way we plan.

Well the intrique and pretty pictures swayed me and I signed up today.
As I'll still be in Manchester at that point, its only 60 miles away, would be rude not to

That's great news Bill, consolidating the already international flavour! I think we already have players from Germany and Austria!
Germany, Austria.... Motherwell! It's getting cosmopolitan

I realise its tricky to top Motherwell as an international destination for the well heeled, so I thought I would help raise the events profile
