Hello Barry
I woud like to ask you a question:
Is The charge distance a "mouvement" potential influenced by terrain
or is it a pure fixed distance ?
The rules say a unit must stop when it is at "charge distance" , for exemple a french chasseur à cheval cavalry regiment in column of squadrons moves and is 42" from a british batallion, it must stop.
But between them lay one small wheat field of 10".
So,
1 the charge distance is 42" ? The terrain between having no effects on the charge distance.
Or
2 do we must calculate the real move (with field counting twice their distance in mouvement in this exemple, the 10" would count as 20" moving distance, the new charge distance would be just 32" ) ?
The second solution would be more realistic but difficult to play, leading to many calculations of the distances modified by terrain between the moving unit and the ennemies unit.
the first solution would be quick and easy, the difficult terrain leading to shorter charge distance.
"Bonne journée " Barry
Friendly yours.
